Thank you Georgia and everybody who came to my jewellery show on Saturday. It was the first time I had ever done something like that and it was very encouraging. I would like to especially like to thank Georgia for hosting. Her apartment is gorgeous and really made my jewellery look glamorous and everyone was loving the perfect view of the river and the rain. I would love to do little parties like that some more so I will just let you all know, that as a hostess (or host) you will recieve 10% off any jewellery you want plus 10% of my total sales for the night will be credited towards any items you want. And I love doing custom stuff with your intentions lovingly placed right into the piece and stones especially picked for your needs so feel free to contact me about designing something before your show!

Shows and Sales
Hi Folks! Well I haven't been blogging much lately, mostly due to a lack of pictures. But recently I have been creating like a mad little gnome because this weekend, I have 2 different shows coming up. Welll, the first isn't so much a show, it is actually Maternal Creations. This will be the second time I have participated in this show and I am very excited and honored to be a part of it. It is full of amazing creations by very talented mama's. So it takes place this Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Little Nest on Commercial drive. I will be there on the Friday evening. Come check it out. Last year there was a lady named Anna there who made the most beautiful handmade dolls and I bought a little pirate for Sadie. I hope she is there again. Also my lovely friend Shael will also be there selling her gorgeous handmade goodies. The sale I am having is at my friend Georgia's place. She has been so kind as to host a jewellery party for me. She is even serving some refreshments! So it is an open house sort of thing from 1pm until 5pm on Saturday. I am very excited about both of these events. I would love to see you all at one or the other, so come on out if it is at all possible. Feel free to email me if you need any more details.

I am having a jewellery sale on November 21st. A friend of mine has been very gracious and offered to host it at her place from 1 pm to 5pm. If you are interested in coming please email me for more details. I have been making alot of jewellery but really I have so many more ideas than time. And getting pictures is practically impossible so there haven't been any blog posts or Etsy listings. I did do a custom bracelet adn I am hoping and waiting to hear from the lady who purchased it. I am really nervous about the shipping. Usually the post office ladies have you fill out a customs thing, but this time she didn't so I am concerned that it will get hung up in customs or worse just go missing. That has happened to me 2 times when I bought stuff. The seller of one of the purchases was really great and sent a replacement item. Well, here are some sneak peaks for you. Take care and be well!

Serpentine?? and blog Exposure.
I made these earrings from a project in a magazine and I really like them. The only problem is that I don't know for sure what the stone is. Jade or Serpentine? But I know nothing about the properties. What I do know is that they look fabulous with Carnelian. I am going to put them in the shop anyway.
Also something relatively exciting happened. One of my bracelets, the one pictured in the blog banner actually, was featured in foundHandmade.com. Go here and scroll down to the second part of Eye of The Tiger. It is a very cool website helping people who want to buy handmade stuff find what they are looking for. Check it out!!

A Little For You, A Little For Me
This funky peice is headed to Austin. It is a crazy little necklace I made for a friend of mine who lives far away and who I miss a great deal these days as we both go through the experience of new motherhood. It would be so sweet if our girls could grow up as friends, but alas our paths were near only briefly. It is made with black tourmaline, pyrite, turquoise and a ruby moonstone. I hope this inspires fun and harmless craziness my dear!!
This necklace of smoky quartz and turquoise is going to my beloved Auntie Jan who is battling cancer right now. I know she is going to kick it's ass. The smokey quartz is to help negate the effects of the chemo and radiation and the turquoise is to help re-establish wholeness and to help her communicate what needs to be communicated. I love you Auntie Jan.
And last but not least, this beauty is for me. This crystal I have had for a long time. I think it is my first clear quartz point. I put a carnelian ring that I made around the top of it and wrapped it all together with copper wire and then I made the necklace part with copper chain that had amethyst, labradorite and iolite wrapped in, (a left over strand from Mystical 3 strand) and some other copper chain with various carnelian, rose quartz, smokey quartz and other agates in it that were given to me by a sweet old lady who was a customer at Extra Foods. Back in those days you know.

Neptune
There is a new necklace in the shop. It turned out to be rather serendipidous. I wanted to make a necklace with the amazing pyrite I got from Norah's shop and some bright smooth blue apatite. I must have been imagining the apatite because when I went to the local bead stores it just wasn't there. I ended up getting some darker more interesting apatite instead. So once I got home and started to pair it up with the amazing fine pyrite I had from Norah I saw that it just wasn't going to work the way I wanted. So I pulled out the last of the Healer's gold pyrite that I had, there were 18 beads left and I layed it all out. I thought it looked a little flat and short so I decided that I might as well use up the faceted pyrite that was left too. There were exactly 18 of those too! I thought that was a clear sign of what was meant to be. And just to create a bit of pop and length I used the rest of my gold filled balls too. It worked out perfectly.

Makes no Difference if it's Black or White ripmj
These are custom made for a friend. Christa Lynn is a bodytalk practioner and reiki Master. I think she's a master. I know she teaches classes. But if you are ever having a look around, if you are interested in trying an alternative therapy I really recommend Bodytalk. I love it!
Christa, if these don't call out to you that is ok, I have other ideas as well. Have a great day everyone!!

Exciting Developments!!
Maybe, if you follow my other blog, you might remember that back in December we had a lovely little photoshoot of Sadie done. Every single picture was marvelous. Not only because Sadie is extraordinarily beautiful, but also because we a had a really great photographer doing the shoot. Well, I have been lucky enough to aquire this wonderful ladies talent once again. Carolyn Egerzegi has taken a slew of photo's of my jewellery for my Etsy site. They look so good. I just have to make it to the front page now! At least I am really hoping too. So if you happen to be an Etsian, please put me in your treasury!! I will be more than happy to reciprocate. Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy the new photo's, including the professional looking banner for the store. And if you are so moved by what you see as to book a photo session for yourself, do it here.
(hover over Carolyn's name and the word photoshoot for links. I don't know why the different color isn't showing up...)

Heart Chakra
Our very first Christmas together Mark bought me a beautiful pendant and earring set. I hardly ever wore them. It isn't because I didn't like them. I love them! Rose quartz set in sterling silver. I don't know why I didn't wear it. But that is all over now. I finally made a necklace for the pendant. It is a combination of tourmaline, green amethyst, rose quartz and sterling silver. Now I can wear it happily all the time.

I am loving the earwires which I bought from Rocki's supplies.
She has inspired me to try to make my own. I just find it difficult to get each one the same.
Well, enjoy and check in a day or so for these lovelies to show up in the shop.

Itty Bitty, Teeny, Weeny.
Have you ever strung size 15 seed beads? Oh boy are they ever tiny. That is what I like about them though. Those little specks aren't poppy seeds. I want this bracelet to have about 12 strands but it takes a while to strand all those little things on there. I get the best light at 10 am at my table. I am working on it in the evening but holy eye strain.

Tourmalated Quartz
One of my all time favorite stones, black tourmaline threads imbedded in clear quartz, this stone keeps your energy field fresh and clear. Black tourmaline is a great stone for spiritual and energetic protection and purification. Clear quartz magnifies this and adds easy programibility.
This piece is a commission I just finished. I almost want to keep it for myself!

A great Trade!
Last week I made my first Etsy sale. Well it was actually a trade and boy was it ever a good one. I received my prize in the mail today. I traded this:
for this:
I am very happy. The bracelet is amazing. Peyote stitch is beautiful. I am more of an instant gratification kind of girl so I don't have the patience to finish any peyote projects so I am very thankful for this little beauty. And the colors. My oh my. Thank you soo much Carol.Wednesday, January 7, 2009
Amethyst loves Rubies love Garnet
This necklace was created inadvertently. I was making my mom some earrings for Chrsitmas and this was the first one. When I put the second one next to it I realized that they did not match at all. This one was a bit bigger. Luckily I had another gold circle on hand and was able to make the matching earring. I had been wanting to combine amethyst, ruby and rhodolite garnet for a long time and I thought who better to recieve such a gorgeous combo than the good woman who gave me life? So I was left with this cirle pendant and I had the gold filled wire wrapped rutilated quartz I put them together and voila!! If you really love it check out my etsy shop, it could be yours...
